United Nations High Commissioner for Refugees (UNHCR) Dec 2014
InterWorks facilitated the 20th workshop event of the ongoing Security Management Learning Programme (SMLP) in Bangkok, Thailand from 8-12 December 2014.
The SMLP is a Global Learning Centre (GLC) and Division of Emergency, Security and Supply (DESS) joint initiative to support managers in the field by increasing capacities and awareness in handling the difficult challenge of balancing operational imperatives and the safety of staff.
It is a blended learning programme, consisting of a self-study module with an online test, followed by a workshop.
Twenty-three participants from UNHCR and UNICEF participated actively throughout the 5-day workshop. The workshop was intensive, interactive and work-oriented, and employed a variety of methodologies, including two mini critical incident management simulation exercises, presentations and case studies as well as group and plenary discussions. It also included an extensive practical application of security risk management methods.
This was an excellent training. The quality of the trainers, the modules and content was extremely high. The topics built upon each other w/each day in a logical and comprehensible manner.
