United Nations High Commissioner for Refugees (UNHCR) Sep 2016
InterWorks conducted a Situational Emergency Training (SET) workshop on emergency preparedness and contingency planning for refugee emergencies in Brazzaville, Republic of Congo, 20-24 September 2016. The SET was designed to strengthen the knowledge base of the participants and bolster the level of preparedness of the various UNHCR offices, their NGO and UN partners, and collaborative government agencies. Beyond the provision of relevant tools, the SET allows participants to better understand their respective roles within the context of a coordinated response to a refugee influx. Additionally, the SET was to provide an opportunity to for participants to review the August 2016 draft contingency plan for DRC refugees’ influx and revise it based on an updated risk assessment.
