Emergency Management Training (EMT) for the Saudi Red Crescent Authority (SRCA)

United Nations High Commissioner for Refugees (UNHCR) | Dec 2015

P1000874

InterWorks co-facilitated an Emergency Management Training (EMT) from 6-13 December 2015 in Dubai, United Arab Emirates. The workshop, co-sponsored by UNHCR and the Saudi Red Crescent Authority (SRCA), was held for a group of Saudi Red Crescent staff who had been selected for a wide curriculum of training in international humanitarian response. The event included an emergency deployment simulation based on the model of UNHCR’s regular Workshop on Emergency Management WEM.

The main objective of this emergency deployment training and simulation exercise was to enhance the capacity of SRCA’s Saudi Heart emergency responders operating in a natural disaster crisis situation to function successfully within an inter-agency framework of multiple humanitarian actors. The intensive and demanding course was interactive and work-oriented, and employed a variety of methodologies, including simulation exercises, presentations and case study, as well as group and plenary discussions.

I loved this field simulation exercise. For me it’s my first time to experience the situation on field and I always loved to see and feel or live what I have been training for and it’s will done and love to do it again.
