Aug 2014
InterWorks developed and facilitated a short workshop for staff of an international private foundation in August 2014. Participants were exposed to the basic principles and good practices of personal security when on international travel both in terms of preparation and personal security while traveling. Participants were introduced to the concept of situational awareness and understanding some of the common indicators of danger as well as how to react when confronted with dangerous situations such as crowds, road accidents, checkpoints (official and unofficial), weapons fire, and kidnapping. In terms of travel preparation, participants were briefed on recent incidents involving foreign travelers, what pre-departure preparations should be considered, and what is best practice for actions while staying in hotels.
