InterWorks facilitated a jointly-funded UNHCR / JICA security management workshop – Security Risk Management (SRM) – in Pranburi, Thailand from 10-15 June 2007. The core themes of the workshop were analysis of security threats and risks to humanitarian and development organization staff working in dangerous locations and the associated management approaches needed to keep staff safe in insecure environments. The participants were from an international audience and included staff from JICA, the UN, NGOs, and government counterparts working in humanitarian and development work in conflict-ridden areas around the world.
Participatory method was very helpful as learning process. I am very lucky to have opportunity for two weeks comprehensive security training. Very useful. I want to recommend colleagues to participate in these courses.
