Security Risk Management Workshop

The Security Management Department of the JICA Planning Division in Tokyo requested InterWorks to lead an in-person Security Risk Management (SRM) workshop this year. Due to the covid-19 pandemic, an online version of the JICA SRM was developed and implemented in 2021 and 2022. This SRM workshop, which took place from 30 January-1 February 2023, was based on the original (2020) agenda with minor modifications made based on experiences during both the in-person and online JICA SRM workshops. Security Risk Management (SRM) Virtual Workshop

InterWorks facilitated two virtual Security Risk Management (SRM) workshops specifically for JICA personnel upon request of the Planning Division of the Security Management Department of JICA in Tokyo. These workshops were based on the 2020 face-to-face JICA SRM workshops conducted in Japan and Kenya and the 2021 JICA virtual SRM workshops. This year, the first JICA virtual SRM took place from 31 January – 4 February 2022 and the second took place from 28 February – 4 March 2022. Read more

InterWorks facilitated two virtual Security Risk Management (SRM) workshops specifically for JICA personnel upon request of the Planning Division of the Security Management Department of JICA in Tokyo. These workshops were based on the 2020 JICA SRM workshops conducted in Japan and Kenya and also the UNHCR eCentre/JICA virtual SRM which was first conducted in December 2020 for participants from a mix of JICA, UN, NGO and government staff. This year, the first JICA virtual SRM took place from 18-22 January 2021 and the second took place from 15-19 February 2021. Read more

Security Risk Management (SRM) Virtual Workshop

InterWorks conducted the eCentre’s Security Risk Management, co-sponsored by the UNHCR eCentre and JICA, in a virtual format from 30 November-4 December. This virtual SRM consisted of 11 interactive web-based sessions, including a final critical incident management online simulation. Participants were from 13 different countries and represented a range of organizations including NGOs, JICA, other government, UNHCR and WFP. Read more

InterWorks conducted a Security Risk Management (SRM) workshop specifically for JICA personnel in Tsukuba, Japan from 8-10 January 2020 at the JICA Training Institute. Participants attending were from the Security Management Department at JICA HQs and from JICA Overseas Offices Participants from the overseas offices came from the Americas and the Caribbean (Haiti, Guatemala and Mexico) and Asia (Afghanistan, India, Indonesia, Kyrgyzstan and Timor-Leste). Safety in the Field (SIF): Operating in Complex Security Environments Exercise

InterWorks conducted the eCentre’s Safety In the Field: Operating in Complex Security Environments Exercise, co-sponsored by the UNHCR eCentre and JICA, in southern Thailand from 9-15 June 2019. It was held at the Suan Son Pradipat Hotel and Fort Dhanarajata (formerly Fort Thanarat) training post in Thailand, with support from the Royal Thai Army per their longstanding arrangement with the UNHCR eCentre.
