InterWorks conducted an International Humanitarian Response Workshop in Yangon, Myanmar from 3-7 November 2008. The overall objective of this workshop was to strengthen the relationships with, and the capabilities of, the Government of Myanmar to carry out more effective and coordinated response to future emergencies that may require international assistance. The workshop was designed to increase understanding of existing guidelines, standards and effective practices among international organizations and governments for preparing for and responding to disasters. It was designed to be highly practical, with an emphasis on case studies, exercises and discussion of both fictional and real experiences.
Not only the lectures are interesting and knowledgeable, but also for the exercises, they become useful parts for this training.
