“Self-reflection encourages great bravery. Rationalization is your greatest enemy.”– AWA KENZO

The twentieth Inter-Agency Standing Committee (IASC) Emergency Team Leadership Programme (ETLP) workshop, organized by UNHCR on behalf of the IASC, was held from 5-9 November 2017 in Dubai, UAE. The ETLP contributes to more effective team leadership in humanitarian emergency settings by enhancing the leadership skills of participants in their roles as emergency team leaders. Participants gain greater self-awareness as an emergency team leader and refine skills which will help them build, influence and lead a team which is cohesive, effective and dedicated to performing at its best. The ETLP is a blended learning programme consisting of a pre-workshop phase with readings, peer feedback and self-assessments, a face-to-face workshop and a post-workshop learning phase. Training themes include: decision making in emergencies, leading cross-cultural teams, leading with emotional intelligence, situational leadership styles and influence and negotiation skills.

This learning would be a turning point in my life and career. Thank you so much.
