UN Office for the Coordination of Humanitarian Assistance Dec 2007
InterWorks co-facilitated the Emergency Field Coordination Training (EFCT) for the UN Office for the Coordination of Humanitarian Assistance (UN OCHA) in Switzerland in December 2007.
The EFCT is for coordinators of humanitarian action and trains participants in four areas of competencies: Protection/Legal Principles, Coordination mechanisms, Assessment and Information Management, and Interpersonal Skills, including negotiation preparation and techniques.
Participants of the EFCT are field-based OCHA staff, both national staff and international staff up to the Head of Office level. For this audience, the EFCT is the only “official” OCHA training that they will receive on the “what” and “how” of effective field coordination. InterWorks has facilitated EFCT trainings since 2004.
