The Security Management Department of the JICA Planning Division in Tokyo requested InterWorks to lead an in-person Security Risk Management (SRM) workshop this year. Due to the covid-19 pandemic, an online version of the JICA SRM was developed and implemented in 2021 and 2022. This SRM workshop, which took place from 30 January-1 February 2023, was based on the original (2020) agenda with minor modifications made based on experiences during both the in-person and online JICA SRM workshops. InterWorks conducted a UNHCR eCentre “Basics of International Humanitarian Response” (BIHR) workshop in Fort Dhanarajata, Thailand from 6-14 November 2022. Twenty-five participants from UNHCR, government and NGO counterpart institutions participated, representing 11 different countries in the Asia Pacific region. Read more

InterWorks facilitated an Essentials of Humanitarian Negotiation (EHN) online workshop from 27-30 June 2022. Participants came from UNHCR and from NGOs – this workshop being specifically dedicated to UNHCR and NGOs staff on request from the Myanmar management. Read more
The UNHCR Regional Centre for Emergency Preparedness – eCentre held the third Basics of International Humanitarian Response (BIHR) Online workshop from 17 – 20 January and also 24-27 January 2022 based on the long-running BIHR face-to-face workshop. The workshop was conducted for 31 participants mostly dealing with the Afghanistan situation. Participants were mainly from Afghanistan, Iran, Pakistan and Tajikistan. Read more
The UNHCR Regional Centre for Emergency Preparedness – eCentre held a webinar series from 15 – 24 November 2021 based on the long-running Basics of International Humanitarian Response (BIHR) workshop. The webinar was conducted with 32 participants enrolled from primarily from the UNHCR Myanmar operation and partner agencies, as well as four participants form the ASEAN AHA center in Jakarta, Indonesia.
