InterWorks led the second LeadER Learning Programme held in Dakar from 19-21 August 2024. This francophone course was preceded by a number preworkshop readings and self-assessments, related to team leadership in emergencies followed by a number of tasks to be carried out before end-2024. Based on the IASC ETLP sessions, concepts, and exercises for the UNHCR eCentre Africa, the LeadER programme’s purpose is to improve the ability of participants to lead teams effectively, make decisions in emergency settings, and negotiate desired mission outcomes.

Situational Emergency Training (SET)

United Nations High Commissioner for Refugees (UNHCR) | Jul 2023

UNHCR organized a Situational Emergency Training from 11-13 July 2023 in Bamako, Mali for the countries of Mali, Burkina Faso and Niger. The purpose of this SET was to strengthen the capacity of UNHCR and its partners in these countries to prepare, coordinate and better respond to mass displacement of IDPs and refugees, with a special focus on the crisis situation in Menaka region of Mali. Security Management Learning Programme (SMLP) Workshop

InterWorks facilitated a UNHCR Global Learning and Development Centre (GLDC) and Field Security Service (FSS) hybrid Security Management Learning Programme (SMLP) in Nairobi, Kenya from 24-28 April 2023. For this hybrid SMLP participants were expected to complete all of the components – two online meetings (28 February and 16 March 2023), three multi-session Learn & Connect modules and a one-week residential workshop.
