InterWorks facilitated the Workshop on Emergency Management Online (WEMO) for the Emergency Response Team (ERT) roster for two events held 11-18 March 2022 (WEMO 7) and 25 March-01 April 2022 (WEMO 8). Overall coordination, planning and administration of the workshops were managed by the UNHCR Global Learning & Development Centre (GLDC) which administers the WEM on behalf of the Division of Emergency, Security and Supply (DESS). Overall event design, facilitation, and preparation of workshop materials was done by InterWorks, LLC. in concert with the UNHCR GLDC and UNHCR content experts as designated by the GLDC. Read more

InterWorks facilitated two virtual Security Risk Management (SRM) workshops specifically for JICA personnel upon request of the Planning Division of the Security Management Department of JICA in Tokyo. These workshops were based on the 2020 face-to-face JICA SRM workshops conducted in Japan and Kenya and the 2021 JICA virtual SRM workshops. This year, the first JICA virtual SRM took place from 31 January – 4 February 2022 and the second took place from 28 February – 4 March 2022. Read more

The UNHCR Regional Centre for Emergency Preparedness – eCentre held the third Basics of International Humanitarian Response (BIHR) Online workshop from 17 – 20 January and also 24-27 January 2022 based on the long-running BIHR face-to-face workshop. The workshop was conducted for 31 participants mostly dealing with the Afghanistan situation. Participants were mainly from Afghanistan, Iran, Pakistan and Tajikistan. Read more

The UNHCR Regional Centre for Emergency Preparedness – eCentre held a webinar series from 15 – 24 November 2021 based on the long-running Basics of International Humanitarian Response (BIHR) workshop. The webinar was conducted with 32 participants enrolled from primarily from the UNHCR Myanmar operation and partner agencies, as well as four participants form the ASEAN AHA center in Jakarta, Indonesia. InterWorks and the UNHCR Regional Centre for Emergency Preparedness-eCentre conducted a one-day webinar for UN and NGO participants in Indonesia concerned with improving preparedness for future emergency responses that may be required for potential sea arrivals and disembarkation situations in Aceh, Indonesia. InterWorks led the IASC Emergency Team Leadership Programme (ETLP) online training, organized by UNHCR on behalf of the IASC from 18-21 October 2021. At the request of the IASC, UNHCR serves as the institutional home for the ETLP by facilitating the tendering, overseeing the design, and ensuring the delivery of the learning program. The ETLP is an interagency blended training programme which reinforces individual team leadership competencies and fosters effective, efficient and professional leadership in humanitarian emergency team settings. InterWorks facilitated, in cooperation with UNHCR eCentre and the Thailand Multi-Country Office, held two, half-day online meetings with the Intersector Working Group (ISWG) as part of its efforts to improve emergency preparedness and response in the event of a refugee influx from Myanmar. Read more
