InterWorks designed and led the first LeadER Learning Programme held in Nairobi, Kenya from 14-16 May 2024. This was a customized 3-day training course, along with a curated set of preworkshop readings and self-assessments, related to team leadership in emergencies, followed by a number of tasks to be carried out before end-2024. InterWorks facilitated a pilot online workshop “Security Training for Women in the Field” on 15-16 January 2024 for the UNHCR Regional Centre for Emergency Preparedness – eCentre. This WEM Face-to-Face (WEMF2F) is part of the WEM blended learning process which includes: (1) preworkshop self-study, (2) attendance at a 4-day live virtual WEM training conducted via Zoom from 3-6 October 2023, and (3) the 7 day field-based face-to-face (F2F) WEM training course which was conducted from 9-15 November in Brindisi, Italy at the UN Humanitarian Response Depot (UNHRD) in Brindisi, managed by WFP.
The WEMF2F was organized in Neuhausen, Germany from 15-21 October 2023 for 36 WEMers. Hosting arrangements for the WEMF2F were provided by the German Bundesanstalt Technisches Hilfswerk – Ortsverband (THW) in Neuhausen.
