Assessment of Needs of Populations in Emergencies Training Program

Project Concern International (PCI) | 2008

InterWorks assisted in the development of a training program for Project Concern International (PCI) staff on the assessment of needs of populations in emergencies. The scope of the training and related materials addressed both the sectoral and technical aspects of needs assessment as well as the managerial aspects of planning, design and operationalizing needs assessment missions. The development of materials included the assembly of existing reference and training materials on topics such as sectoral and cross cutting issues, assessment tools and methodologies. Some of the materials were self-study format while the rest were in handbooks, checklists, surveys, templates and other types of assessment related documentation. The assessment guidelines, tools, and methodologies included those used by UN agencies, NGOs and OFDA.
