InterWorks partner Charles Dufresne served as the Simulation Exercise Controller for IOM’s Rapid Response Team (RRT) Simulation Exercise-based training conducted in Bucharest, Romania, leading and working alongside a 14-person training team and over fifty actors. This event built on the 2024 pilot RRT SimEx, led by Training-in-Aid, in partnership with InterWorks providing support in design and delivery, including updates to the exercise in 2025.
Twenty-nine participants took part in this face-to-face simulation, which simulates the initial, rapidly evolving sudden-onset emergency response phase, testing RRT teams’ ability to work effectively as a team, manage information, conduct field assessments, and successfully engage, negotiate, and coordinate with government, UN, and NGO partners during the first hours, days, and weeks of an IOM emergency response.
