InterWorks led the UNHCR eCentre for Africa’s second Essentials of Humanitarian Negotiation (EHN) workshop in Dakar, Senegal from 10-12 December 2024. The workshop, held in French, was the conclusion of the overall eCentre for Africa Learning Programme for the French-speaking cohort.
This Essentials of Humanitarian Negotiation workshop was adapted from the EHN materials developed by and used successfully for the eCentre Asia. It focused on strengthening participants’ abilities to negotiate effectively in humanitarian situations. The instructional and learning methodology for the workshop was focused on practicing negotiation skills. The workshop combined short presentations and multiple negotiation role play exercises to use and apply the skills that were introduced.
Overall, the training is very beneficial for us who do not have enough experience in humanitarian work.
