Online Review & Preparedness Workshop for Potential Emergency Response

United Nations High Commissioner for Refugees (UNHCR) | Nov 2021

InterWorks and the UNHCR Regional Centre for Emergency Preparedness-eCentre conducted a one-day webinar for UN and NGO participants in Indonesia concerned with improving preparedness for future emergency responses that may be required for potential sea arrivals and disembarkation situations in Aceh, Indonesia.

The design for this event was based on initial discussions with the UNHCR eCentre and UNHCR Indonesia staff members for a two-day event, to be held for representatives of the Indonesian government, UN, and NGO partners involved in the 2020 emergency boat arrival responses. The event was modified to include only UN and NGO partners and the two-day agenda was consolidated in a single full-day online discussion/working group exercise based on the actual case histories of two emergency arrival responses in Aceh in 2020.

The webinar was designed to achieve the following stated objectives:

  1. reflect on the emergency responses in 2020
  2. establish lessons learned
  3. prepare for future such humanitarian emergencies to reduce suffering and promote human dignity of those needing humanitarian assistance.

It has been perfect training on me. Very focus, attractive, engaging and very practical.
