InterWorks designed and facilitated an eCentre Emergency Management Workshop on Refugee Protection in Tehran, Islamic Republic of Iran from 10-13 July 2016. This workshop was designed for senior staff from the Bureau for Aliens and Foreign Immigrants Affairs (BAFIA) of the Islamic Republic of Iran, the National Disaster Management Organization (NDMO), the Ministry of Health and the Iranian Red Crescent Society (IRCS) officials. It was co-sponsored by the UNHCR Branch Office in Tehran and BAFIA. This event happened as continuous efforts of the Operation for improved Emergency Preparedness taking place for the third consecutive year targeting different stakeholders. The focus of the event was on preparedness for refugee emergencies in the I.R. Iran, central protection concerns, international norms and standards in response, and coordination.
