International Institute for Educational Planning (IIEP)/UNESCO Feb 2010
InterWorks conducted an IASC Education Cluster – Regional Capacity Development with Ministries of Education in Santiago, Chile from 22-24 February, 2010 for representatives from Chile, Ecuador, Peru, Colombia and Paraguay. The workshop was an orientation to the global IASC education cluster and to issues related to risk reduction and preparedness for conflicts and disasters.
Participants completed a pre-workshop capacity analysis survey to begin assessing their capacity development needs in advance of the workshop. During the workshop, the survey was used during the reflections on additional capacity development needs. A follow-on activity was completed as well based on the needs and priorities of participants that were identified during the workshop.
The workshop drew on a range of training methodologies and facilitation techniques, including short presentations, group work, facilitated discussions and a simulation/role play exercise. Participants were encouraged to participate actively and to share concrete examples from their own countries.
Felicatar a todos los organizadores, porque solo estos eventos nos ayuda a tener una vision mas amplia de lo que nos falta por hacer, y lo que tenemos realmente.
[Congratulations to all the organizers, because only these events help us to have a broader view of what we need to do, and what we really are.]– Workshop participant
