InterWorks participated in a study, commissioned by the Norwegian Refugee Council, that focused on land and property issues particularly as they related to the situation of returnees and IDPs. Its intent was to provide practical policy and practice change recommendations for improving access to secure and viable land, property and livelihoods for current and future returnees and IDPs. The study was conducted in Kabul, Nangarhar and Balkh Provinces and features five case studies. The methodology included a document review; discussions with staff of government, NRC and other assistance organizations; and individual and focus group interviews with returnees, IDPs and other citizens.
