InterWorks implemented a pilot course on Emergency Logistics Management in Medan, Indonesia on 26-30 May 2008. The workshop’s intent was to further ASEAN’s disaster preparedness goals in support of the ASEAN-Hyogo Framework for Action (HFA). The workshop reviewed existing and new policies, principles, methods and tools in emergency logistics management to participants from ASEAN Member States; shared best practices and lessons learnt among the ASEAN Member States in emergency logistics management; and developed a core set of training materials on emergency logistics management for further national and regional development of a shared ASEAN-based training capacity in emergency logistics management.
This course was extremely useful and provides good insights to beginners for a basic course. It is a good platform to leverage a way ahead for disaster management in the ASEAN.
