InterWorks facilitated a joint strategic prioritization retreat for the United Nations Country Team UNDAF process in Jordan and Syria in Aqaba, Jordan, from 17-19 November. Given the commonalities in developmental and humanitarian challenges and opportunities between Jordan and Syria, coupled with the alignment of their UNDAF/CCA cycles (Syria 2007-2011, Jordan 2008-2012), the joint retreat was organized to facilitate learning between both UNCTs, increase knowledge sharing, and explore opportunities for increased partnership. Twenty-seven participants, from UNCT-Jordan, UNCT-Syria, and regional bureaus, attended the retreat. The main goal of the retreat was to begin a process of collaboration and knowledge sharing between the UNCTs in Syria and Jordan.
