InterWorks facilitated the DPKO/DFS “Policy and Best Practices Officers Workshop” from 8-12 May 2017, at the Permanent Mission of the Netherlands, in New York City, New York. This event brought together the Policy and Best Practices Officers (PBPOs) and Focal Points (FPs) from peacekeeping missions around the world and the headquarter-based DPKO-DFS Knowledge Management and Guidance Team.
The objectives of the workshop were to: 1) provide an update on new policies and HQ developments which will impact the PBPO/FP role; 2) provide practical knowledge, strategies, and tips to increase the effectiveness of PBPO/FP’s in their roles, 3) reinforce PBPO/FPs ability to plan and conduct After Action Reviews; 4) strengthen communication and network between HQ and field PBPO/FPs and 5) identify best practice opportunities in the missions.
