InterWorks worked with IIEP and the Department of Planning and Evaluation of the Ministry of Education in Afghanistan to conceptualize a “training program” in educational planning and management within the context of national education strategies and in line with the Education Interim Plan prepared for FTI endorsement and the second National Education Strategic Plan (NESP-2). The purpose of the program is to develop capacities of decentralized education officials throughout the country, in particular provincial and district level officials with educational planning and management responsibilities. The proposed plan consisted of a modular approach to capacity development that may ultimately lead to a fully accredited program of study within Afghanistan.
